ABOUT ACRYLIC DREAMS
Acrylic Dreams is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides support to Small Projects Istanbul, an organization dedicated to giving education, skills training, and a sense of security to Syrian children who have left their homes due to the persisting civil war. These original, handmade paintings make perfect gifts for birthdays, holidays, or other special occasions. Each purchase of an Acrylic Dream will serve as a reminder of the help you have given to a child in need.
MEET THE DREAM TEAM
Noor
Founder and CEO
Noor founded Acrylic Dreams in July 2017 in order to combine her love of art with impactful work. After living in the Middle East during the Arab Spring, Noor wanted to give back to the community that taught her the importance of advocacy and speaking on behalf of the silent. She was particularly drawn to the Syrian refugee crisis as she learned to see beyond Western rhetoric surrounding the region. Noor taught herself painting when she was 13 years old and graphic design at age 17. She currently attends high school in DC, where she teaches drawing to refugee children.
Ariana
MD Representative
Ariana joined Acrylic Dreams in May 2018. She was particularly interested the cause because her mother’s family fled their home country to come to the US. “There are over 11 million Syrians in need of assistance as a result of the Syrian civil war.” Ariana states, “... I understand the difficulties that children and families face after being forced to leave their homes and make new lives for themselves with no resources or support.”
